As a birthday gift I was given another adventure
A trip down a disused Welsh slatemine
Go below is a leading provider in underground fun activities, as well as boasting the deepest cave sleeping experience in the WORLD!!!!
The day stated with a brisk walk to the min entrance, followed by a little bit of via-Ferrara rope work
With zip-lines and an abseil for good measure, a few climbs up and down,
Coupled with a historic overview of Welsh Slate Mining conditions we had a great time
Onwards to camp, and a few beers in Readiness for the following days ‘normal’ activities of mountain climbing!
Saturdays target was going to be Tryfan once more.. but the planets didn’t align.. we were too late to park..
So bus wankers it was!
We decided to do Irdwal Staircase.. but, it was like a waterfall and we had a dog in tow…
So, a bit of messing about and Y Garn was the chosen destination
And then back to camp.. we had pitched up at Talymignedd which is a working farm, with all the noise and smells to go with it
The facilities are well maintained and looked after, the fields well kept, our stay was enjoyable and the location stunning
