Never thought hiking would change my life!

It’s a common phrase, but for me, the mountains truly shifted my perspective

214 Peaks is a reflective journal designed to chart this journey, not just the mountains climbed, but the memories made.

I decided to capture my adventures here as a digital memory capsule, a way to look back on the challenges undertaken and the friendships formed.

The inspiration actually comes from a regret.
Years ago, in my scouting days, we were told to keep ‘hike reports.’

At the time, I didn’t see their value and paid them mere lip service.
Looking back, I wish I had maintained them properly.
We had incredible adventures back then, often with little equipment, less knowledge, and absolutely no fear! And I cringe that those stories are now fading.

I won’t make that mistake again. This site is my way of ensuring today’s adventures are recorded.

My current mission is to conquer the 214 Wainwrights. I’d likely have done them by now; however, people keep sidetracking me with the allure of exceptional adventures!
This isn’t a solo mission.

This journal celebrates the amazing people I’ve met in the hills, campsites, and carparks, and the friends who pushed my boundaries when I needed it most.
They are the ones who keep the fire lit.
